The ongoing divorce trial of Los Angeles Dodgers owner, Frank McCourt, continues to move its way through the California courts. Similar to what might occur in Texas divorce proceedings, his wife was awarded spousal maintenance (sometimes referred to as alimony) during the interim of the divorce action -- though the figures were a bit astounding by most standards.

Texas child custody orders are not cast in stone. Like other states, the focus is on the best interests of the child. Courts will reconsider child custody decisions if there has been a substantial change in circumstances warranting a review.
